The novitiate, which lasts two years, is a time of holistic initiation to the religious life. Its scope is to enable the novice to know and experience the beauty as well as the duties of the consecrated life through internalizing the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, and obedience. By means of an ever deepening experience of God the novice learns to identify herself as an Apostle. She can then assume the inner attitudes of the Heart of Jesus and become a visible sign of his presence in the world.
