Ten Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus participated in the first Sacred Heart World Congress, held in Paray-le-Monial October 6-12, 2011. The event was promoted by “Global Headquarters,” a lay movement in the United States dedicated to building a civilization of love through the enthronement of the Sacred Heart. Laity, priests, and religious from various parts of the world attended the congress. The following Apostles, representing each province of the Congregation, were also present:
Sr. Alice Reginato and Sr. Marta Dalcin (General Council)
Sr. Patrizia Cigrand (USA)
Sr. Assunta Dalla Nora (Northern Italy)
Sr. Adriana Melfi (Central-Southern Italy)
Sr. Miriam Cunha and Sr. Maria de Fátima de Carvalho (San Paulo, Brazil)
Sr. Lúcia Mangolin (Paraná, Brazil)
Sr. Teresinha Teixeira (Central-North Brazil)
Sr. Rosa Luisa Manfroi (Cono Sur)
The Congress consisted of catechesis, celebrations, and prayer. The catechesis was led by priests and laity who reflected on the theology and spirituality of the Sacred Heart. They encouraged the participants to enthrone the Heart of Jesus in families and in various sectors of society: dioceses, parishes, seminaries, religious communities, schools, and other areas.
At the conclusion of the Congress some of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus joined other participants in a pilgrimage to Lourdes. They placed at Mary’s feet our mission to bring the love of the Heart of Christ to all people, embracing the call of the Holy Father and of Mother Clelia to make the Hearts of Jesus and Mary known and loved.
The Apostles are most grateful for the opportunity to participate in this joyful spiritual experience.
